ALL supplies
- Working with Clay:
$60 per 2-day Workshop
90-minutes each day.
Our philosophy is that working with clay should be a lot fun for all! Young artists will develop and refine a variety of hand-building techniques: pinching, coiling, slab construction and modeling as well as surface decoration techniques.
- Sketching in Black & White:
$30 per 90 minute workshop. These classes are designed to help students discover or rediscover their inner artist with a concentration on acquiring a solid foundational skill-set for drawing.
- Fun with Cartooning:
$30 per 90 minute workshop.
Students will work with color pencils & markers while learning techniques to illustrate and color their favorite cartoons or create characters of their own. These excellent classes teach students many aspects of cartooning, from basic cartooning using simple shapes through to drawing more advanced cartoons.
- Color Your World:
$30 per 90 minute workshop.
Art is not something to observe but something to create. The class will work from direct observation of a variety of subject matter - students will acquire a strong foundation in painting & drawing techniques... including Color mixing, application, proportions, & creating a balanced composition.
- Painted Heads - Fun Fun Fun!:
$60 per 2-day Workshop
A LONG time favorite at the Barbara A. Wood Academy of Art!
Creativity & color unleashed as students take a plain white Styrofoam head an create a masterpiece they will cherish for a long time! One of the most fun classes we offer all year! The creative sky is the limit!

OUR 2011 SUMMER WORKSHOPS
are going to be the most fun & creative classes yet! "Kids" 5 to Adult are invited to join our summer workshops & learn lessons on Clay Sculpture, Cartooning, Painted heads, Sketching & Working with Pastels & Paint. Our workshops will feature arts & crafts projects that will stir the imagination of all ages! These activities are designed to encourage creativity & self-expression as students works with varied and unique art projects. All supplies are included with every workshop
